Have You Tried Honey and Cinnamon for Weight Loss?
If you have tried honey and cinnamon drink, please share your experience here. I’ll appreciate that very much.
I am curious to know is it effective for you?
How long have you been using honey and cinnamon, and what results you have by now?
I heard from my mom this weekend and she told me she been using it for about one week and has lost about 4 pounds already. She has a lot more to go to her goal weight, but she is very determined.
I will also try the honey and cinnamon drink as soon as I supply myself with honey. I already got the cinnamon and water
Yours truly,

I’ve never tried a cinnamon and honey drink, but I have started adding cinnamon to a lot of the stuff I eat. I’m not really on a diet but I’m adding extra cinnamon for the health benefits.

I dont cut calories and I eat candy, ice cream, chocolate anything, I dont drink soda though, never really have. Anyway, I just had a baby and had only gained 20 lbs, I had lost the weight but was still really flabby…I am still a little flabby but its going away. Even my husband has noticed the difference. This really works, and the taste isnt too bad!!!

Hello,
This is really works, It starts with the fat that you already have and starts moving that out. Please be advised that you should not pour the boiling water over the raw honey as it will lose it’s enzymes and you will not have effective weightloss. Follow correctly and you will lose the weight. Here is the correct version of the receipe below:
Cinnamon and Honey formula for weight loss:
This should be prepared at night before going to bed.
1. Use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts raw honey. 1/2 tsp cinnamon to 1 tsp honey is recommended but can use more or less as long as in the ratio of 1 to 2. — so 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp raw honey is ok too as an example.
2. Boil 1 cup…that is 8 oz of water.
3. Pour water over cinnamon and cover and let it steep for 1/2 hour..(30 minutes)
4. Add honey now that it has cooled. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
5. Drink 1/2 of this directly before going to bed. The other 1/2 should be covered and refrigerated.
6. In the morning drink the other half that you refirgerated…but do not re-heat it…drink it cold or at room temp only.
Do not add anything else to this recipe. No lemon, no lime, no vinegar. It is not necessary to drink it more time in a day…it is only effective on an empty stomach and primarily at night.
This works for most people. Inches are lost before any measurement on the scales. This program will cause significant inches lost…but you will reach a plateau and may not lose anymore. This is because the cinnamon and honey cause a cleansing effect in the digestive tract and cleans out parasites and other fungus and bacteria that slow down the digestion…causing a toxic build up. (Lowers pH) Once this is all cleaned out then you will most likely have the weight loss slow down.
Other side effects from a cleansing can occur because of toxins being released…if this occurs, cut back on how much you use or take a break.
Additionally people report increased energy, more sex drive, and feeling happier/mood enhancer.
*NOTE:The honey used needs to be REAL RAW UNPASTEURIZED HONEY. If it says PURE honey it is most likely pasteurized. It is best to only buy honey that says RAW or UNPASTEURIZED on the label. The difference is that the enzymes are all heated out of the pasteurized honey.
April 24th, 2008 at 11:09 am
a friend just emailed me this diet and i am so excited to try it, i know its all natural, but are there any side effect to watch for?
April 27th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
Check out cassia cinnamon and coumarin on the internet for possible side effects. You might try Ceylon cinnamon instead.
April 28th, 2008 at 7:36 am
I AM A LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT USING UNPASTURISED HONEY FOR THE FEAR OF BOTULISM OR SALMONELLA.
ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS. I HAD TRIED THIS DRINK FOR 2 WEEKS WITH NO RESULTS, SO I QUIT DOING IT. I AM THINKING ABOUT DOING IT AGAIN. WISH ME LUCK THIS TIME AROUND.
April 30th, 2008 at 5:47 am
Unpasturised honey is food straight from nature ans pasturisation destroyes a lot of the good stuff in it.
I mean how many cases of botulism or salmonella from honey have you actually heard. I always buy raw honey and nothing less. I am then sure to get maximum benefits from it and that is the enzymes it contains which is amylase and also propolis for antibacterial properties.
Something interesting that you might want to know is that when you spread raw honey on bread and leave on for a few minutes it starts digesting it for you.
Don’t be afraid of it be grateful and thank the next Bee you see.

I heard about this one week ago and tried it that night and the next morning. I have lost 3# so far. I joined WW and this added bit of information is giving me a new jump start in my weight loss experience. On days that I “cheat” like today, Mother’s Day, the honey and cinnamon tea settles an upset stomach too. It’s awesome.
May 28th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
Which honey should you use light or dark?
how long do you wait after drinking it in the morning before you eat?
May 31st, 2008 at 9:52 am

Is natural honey raw honey?
June 4th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
I know it works… Cinnamon & honey is a very famous traditional Egyptian drink. Because of its benefits you can get it in every coffee shop in Egypt.
I’ve tried this diet multiple times & it has always worked for me. It’s really great before special occasion as you can see results fast [up to 3 kgs on the first week].
My Grandma & my mother drink cinnamon at least once a day since they were in their 30’s & they’ve always maintained a perfect weight this way.
The exact recipe is as follows:
Boil 250 ml of water, pour it in a container with a lid [a kettle], then add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the boiled water & cover for a few minutes [5 min.]. Pour in a glass then add 1 tablespoon of honey, stir & drink.
Also during the day, to overcome sweet cravings, you can try having the same cinnamon drink, but add some skimmed milk. You’ll be surprised how satisfied you’ll feel.
Other than weight loss, try the cinnamon drink as well during your menstruation, it acts as a painkiller as well as a uterine stimulant.

June 27th, 2008 at 1:07 am
Also i can’t find any Raw honey. =[
Anychance you can buy it over the internet?
June 27th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
Hey People please do it exact way…I just read and did bt I forgotten that honey shoud be added in cold water not in boiling water. So I think results will be lesser….
from tomorrow morning I will boil water add cinnamon and than after half an hour i will pour the remaining honey…
I think that will work…
June 29th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Hey I’m going to try this also. I really hope it works though cause no other diet has ever helped me. But do I add the honey before I filter or after? I know you guys said when it is cool but you didn’t say whether it was before or after. Thanks for all this advice.
July 19th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
I have been doing this for 3 days. I think my tummy looks thinner…is it my imagination.
July 28th, 2008 at 3:17 am
You know this sounds very interesting but there are too many methods listed here and how does one know who is correct – if any? I want to know why you just can’t have a spoonful of honey with cinnamon mixed in? Why the cool boiled water? Or just boiled water? Why enzymes with honey? How does that effect weight loss. Is there anything but rumor here? If so – does anyone have an actual source for how to go about it? (besides ancient egyptian lore)
August 16th, 2008 at 5:41 am
I am confused to I don’t know which amount of each is correct. There are too many different mixtures. Does anyone know the right combination?
August 19th, 2008 at 8:04 am
I have a friend who started this a few weeks ago and she claims she has lost about 10 pounds so far. She does it at night for insomnia as well.
I started this a few days ago and drink it in the morning. After a few hours, I am heading to the restroom. I assume it is working to get the toxins out of my body, but it is not a pleasant. I have noticed that my jeans are not as snug at the waist. Don’t know it I can attribute it to the cinnamon and raw honey or not. Will check back after a few weeks on it.
September 8th, 2008 at 6:04 am
I started this on 8th July, and went from 67 kg to 63 kg in a matter of 2 weeks. Not much I know but it was enough for people to notice that I was slimmer!! At the same time I limited my carbohydrate intake to once a day and at other meal times ate plenty of veg and proteins. My jeans were less snug and I think my tummy has gone down a bit…
The thing is I boiled a cup of water, some cinnamon powder and some honey..no specific measuremnts at all – i might have lost more if I had done it the right way as mentioned above!
I now seem to have reached a plateau at 62 kg…no more loss I’m afarid, but I still intend to carry on with this because it doesn’t taste too bad..and I feel lighter and more energetic!!
September 17th, 2008 at 10:34 am
Really keen to give this a go but where do you get raw honey from?? my email is d.garnett1@ntlworld.com if you want to email me direct thanks

After reading “TONS” of information on the subject of Cinnamon and Honey for weight loss I realize just how important it is to have the correct Cinnamon. “True or Ceylon Cinnamon” must be used for the best health results. I have looked the “Raw” Honey and could only find honey that has been warmed enough so it would pour. So I guess that is as close as one can can get.
My order of True Ceylon Cinnamon will be arriving Sept 30th and I will be very eager to get started.
I understand honey should never have boiling water poured over it as heat will destroy all the good effects and enzymes in it.
Signed,
A person eagerly anticipating pounds and inches to disappear.

Here is a link [deleted by admin] It has a list of mixtures for different remedies, near the middle is the proper way to mix the honey and cinnamon for weight loss. It also specifies Ceylon cinnamon should be used, which I purchased online fairly cheap as it is pure. I also bought raw honey at [brand deleted], it is a health food store. Good Luck!!

Hi, I have been taking cinnamon and honey in the boiled water for quiet some time , it has amazing effect on the weight, I would also like to share that honey and cinnamon mixture in boiled water even helps you lower your cholesterol and often works as aphrodisiac if taken on regular basis
November 16th, 2008 at 4:18 am
Does the mix need to be filtered. Can the benefits be achieved without filtering it?
Has anyone tried just the honey/cinnamon mix without the water? (i.e. just the paste alone?)
November 18th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
I have a supply of cinnamon sticks (the unground bark rolled up). Any suggestions for what I can do with it?
Thanks.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:14 am
I have been drinking the honey/cinnamon tea for 4 days now and have lost 5 lbs. I dissolve the cinnamon in water boiling from the microwave. I let the cinnamon water sit for at least 1/2 hour, then add 2 tsps of RAW honey. There are countless health benefits to raw, unfiltered honey, but you don’t want to heat the honey more than required for it to dissolve. The tea can sometimes be a bit pasty, but if textures don’t bother you, the results have been worth it. I haven’t made a conscious effort to diet, but I was able to sit in a room with free donuts yesterday morning and was not interested. I have a major sweet-tooth, so resisting temptation is not normal for me. The honey seems to curb my appetite for sweets made with processed sugars. I am thrilled with my results so far!
November 29th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Hi,
Does this have to be in the form of a “tea”? I just heard about this on Thanksgiving by a family member. He said you can mix the cinnamon/honey and use it as a spread on bread. Is this true? Also, MUST raw honey and a special cinnamon be used or will benefits (though lesser) be had with processed honey and “regular” store bought cinnamon?
Thanks so much!
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:45 pm
What kind of Cinnamon? Powder??? Does it have to be a certain kind or can I just pick some up at the supermarket?
I’m so excited to try this!
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:28 pm
I have been drinking the cinnamon/honey tea for a few weeks now. I’ve only lost about 3 pounds though. But I’ve also made other lifestyle changes so it’s hard to tell what it’s from. I’ve also noticed a difference in the bloating (decrease) and a decrease in my sugar cravings. I did read something online that said you should be careful not to overdo it since high amounts of cinnamon can be toxic. (so be careful). When I first started, I would mix the cinnamon and honey in one cup (8oz) of water at the same time. But, now I will let the mixture sit as well for a 1/2 hour before putting the honey in. I did find out that if you let the complete mixture sit for a while before drinking, it does get a bit slimy and thick (harder to swallow). Happy Drinking!
December 5th, 2008 at 10:48 am
Started the drink yesterday… is it suppose to be this grainy? lol
Not too bad though!
Thanks Ree for the warning on too much cinnamon, I didn’t know that!
December 5th, 2008 at 10:54 am
Another question.. should this tea be “filtered” … or are you suppose to drink all the cinnamon in the water?
Should you start out drinking a full cup in the the morning and night?

Hi
I am breastfeeding my 2 months old baby. Can I drink the honey and cinnamon tea? Will it affect my baby since I am breastfeeding her? Pls reply so that I will start right away.
December 21st, 2008 at 6:34 am
Hello Aparna,
I am not a doctor, so it is better to ask your pediatrician about that. But if I were you, I wouldn’t drink the honey and cinnamon tea while breastfeeding.

I have tried taking this mixture but there was no change in weight… I am not lost any weight… Can any one guide on how to prepare the mixture. I have tried taking boiling water then adding cinnamon powder to it. Wait for the water to come to normal temp. and then add honey to it.. Not sure where do we get “RAW” honey… I have tried honey available locally… Can some one who was successful advice….
January 21st, 2009 at 11:14 pm
i am wondering about the half that stays overnight and is drank in the morning, can i leave it out at room temp? I am wondering because it would be more conducive to me drinking the AM “dose” if i don’t have to run down to the fridge before i shower.
I have a few glass bottles with lids that i could store it in.
and, did we decide the proper portions? 1 tsp cinn=2 tsp honey?
January 23rd, 2009 at 4:04 pm
started last night, it has a nice flavor but i didn’t filter it and was left with a gross sludge at the bottom. I am wondering if i should’ve consumed that sludge. I just poured it down the drain. I am wondering if the people who have seen results did the filtering, or consumed the sludge?
February 2nd, 2009 at 10:56 am
Hey I’ve just started trying ds procedure n hope that it will work but a bit confused about raw honey is it da same one as available in da market as Natural honey. And most importantly cinnamon does it really has side effects?

March 30th, 2009 at 8:32 am
The lord is good. It so hard to try to stick to eating right. I found this paper at mt church. I started doing it on 3/25/09. And today is 3/30/09.I have a pair of jeans that were so tight on me, I tryed them on Saturday 3/28 and my pants fit. It is so amazing. these are natural things God has given us.We dont need harsh pills that are loaded with things I cant read. I’m glad I found it and my 12 year old son lost inches to. He started the same time as me. Try it! It wont fail you.
April 5th, 2009 at 6:52 am
Ive been taking the tea for a week daily already and i dont see much difference. I add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 2 teaspoons of pure honey and leave it for 1/2 hr. Then, I boil water and add the paste into it and let it be for 1/2 hr. Next, i filter it and pour it in 2 cups, one for the night and the other next morning.
Am i doing it right?
April 9th, 2009 at 11:07 am
Yes..this formula works..!! its amazing..I am beginning to fit into my other wise tight dresses..it feels great..1!
May 7th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
This works! I’ve lost a size in 3-4 weeks and my belly fat seems to melt away! I cannot believe this is not in the mainstream more! You MUST use raw honey, and MUST NOT add the honey at the same time as the cinnamon. Here is what I’ve been doing: boil water, add to 1 tsp organic cinnamon, add 1 green tea bag, remove tea bag after 4 minutes, continue steeping the cinammon for 35 more minutes, strain the liquid with a wire mesh soup strainer, THEN add the raw/unfiltered honey. It should look milky/opaque. If it is typical looking honey, it is probably not raw. Drink! I make my morning tea the same way, and have it fresh before my coffee and breakfast. Everyone should try this!

O M G im so excited to loose weight WOOP!!
can enione tell me if its alright to eat a lemon before drinking this? becouse i have a habit of eating lemon before bed… sounds weird but its a habit …. i hope it dusnt effect the properties of the drink. lemmi no pls
thanxxx
September 13th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
I tried this for a month, and I didn’t loose anything. Instead I gained 9 Ibs!!!
September 15th, 2009 at 10:09 am
This works for me even with the honey being included in the boiling hot water. One addition I have not seen here: It is recommended that after drinking in the AM you wait 30 minutes before eating. I find that generally within that 30 minutes I’m off to the bathroom for some “cleansing” that wouldn’t normally happen that quickly.
I have lost 24 pounds since May 20. Not all from this, but also exercise and cutting back on sodium and eating whole grains, unenriched foods. Once a change has become habit (no more fast food), I add a new change. This week I stop eating at 7 pm and drink this mix before bed. I set a personal goal to lose 25 pounds every 4 months until I reach my goal.
I have had this drink about 2-3 times a week for the past few weeks. Each week I followed this recipe I lost 3-4 pounds.
October 6th, 2009 at 8:06 pm
what is and where can i find true cinnamon
October 27th, 2009 at 7:48 am
I am wondering if someone can tell me if you should add the honey to the cinn with the boiling water or wait and add the honey after the water and cinn has cooled?
November 2nd, 2009 at 9:12 am
I’m going to try this again. The last time I used the cinnamon from the grocery store and there was a glob of sludge in the bottom of the cup. This time I bought some Chinese Cinnamon and it doesn’t get the sludge. Good luck everyone.
November 10th, 2009 at 6:24 am
For everyone whos trying to find raw honey for the recipe, try the Vitamin Shoppe, they should have it, or if you dont have that store in your area, you should try GNC they usually have raw honey. If not there, try typing in health food stores in your web browser for your area. I’ve gotten raw honey from local bee keepers at the Farmers Market down here in Fl.
