Have You Tried Honey and Cinnamon for Weight Loss?

If you have tried honey and cinnamon drink, please share your experience here. I’ll appreciate that very much.

I am curious to know is it effective for you?

How long have you been using honey and cinnamon, and what results you have by now?

I heard from my mom this weekend and she told me she been using it for about one week and has lost about 4 pounds already. She has a lot more to go to her goal weight, but she is very determined.

I will also try the honey and cinnamon drink as soon as I supply myself with honey. I already got the cinnamon and water :)

Yours truly,

started last night, it has a nice flavor but i didn’t filter it and was left with a gross sludge at the bottom. I am wondering if i should’ve consumed that sludge. I just poured it down the drain. I am wondering if the people who have seen results did the filtering, or consumed the sludge?

  3. Delores says:

Raw Honey can be bought at Whole Food Store, a natural health food store should also have it.I am mixing now will let you all know how it goes soon.

The lord is good. It so hard to try to stick to eating right. I found this paper at mt church. I started doing it on 3/25/09. And today is 3/30/09.I have a pair of jeans that were so tight on me, I tryed them on Saturday 3/28 and my pants fit. It is so amazing. these are natural things God has given us.We dont need harsh pills that are loaded with things I cant read. I’m glad I found it and my 12 year old son lost inches to. He started the same time as me. Try it! It wont fail you.

Ive been taking the tea for a week daily already and i dont see much difference. I add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 2 teaspoons of pure honey and leave it for 1/2 hr. Then, I boil water and add the paste into it and let it be for 1/2 hr. Next, i filter it and pour it in 2 cups, one for the night and the other next morning.

    Am i doing it right?

  6. Nikhat says:

This works! I’ve lost a size in 3-4 weeks and my belly fat seems to melt away! I cannot believe this is not in the mainstream more! You MUST use raw honey, and MUST NOT add the honey at the same time as the cinnamon. Here is what I’ve been doing: boil water, add to 1 tsp organic cinnamon, add 1 green tea bag, remove tea bag after 4 minutes, continue steeping the cinammon for 35 more minutes, strain the liquid with a wire mesh soup strainer, THEN add the raw/unfiltered honey. It should look milky/opaque. If it is typical looking honey, it is probably not raw. Drink! I make my morning tea the same way, and have it fresh before my coffee and breakfast. Everyone should try this!

I tried this for a month, and I didn’t loose anything. Instead I gained 9 Ibs!!!

This works for me even with the honey being included in the boiling hot water. One addition I have not seen here: It is recommended that after drinking in the AM you wait 30 minutes before eating. I find that generally within that 30 minutes I’m off to the bathroom for some “cleansing” that wouldn’t normally happen that quickly.

I have lost 24 pounds since May 20. Not all from this, but also exercise and cutting back on sodium and eating whole grains, unenriched foods. Once a change has become habit (no more fast food), I add a new change. This week I stop eating at 7 pm and drink this mix before bed. I set a personal goal to lose 25 pounds every 4 months until I reach my goal.

I have had this drink about 2-3 times a week for the past few weeks. Each week I followed this recipe I lost 3-4 pounds.

what is and where can i find true cinnamon

  13. Ash says:

I am wondering if someone can tell me if you should add the honey to the cinn with the boiling water or wait and add the honey after the water and cinn has cooled?

  14. Donna says:

I’m going to try this again. The last time I used the cinnamon from the grocery store and there was a glob of sludge in the bottom of the cup. This time I bought some Chinese Cinnamon and it doesn’t get the sludge. Good luck everyone.

  15. Ambe says:

For everyone whos trying to find raw honey for the recipe, try the Vitamin Shoppe, they should have it, or if you dont have that store in your area, you should try GNC they usually have raw honey. If not there, try typing in health food stores in your web browser for your area. I’ve gotten raw honey from local bee keepers at the Farmers Market down here in Fl.

  16. Tony M. says:

I don’t know if I did this correctly. I followed the recipe exactly, a 2:1 ratio. I had 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of Kirkland Signature Saigon Cinnamon to 1 tablespoon of buckwheat honey. I drank half in the evening, half in the morning. I added the honey once the mixture had cooled. However, my weight stayed the same. Any ideas as to what I did wrong?

  17. Carol B says:

I found out about this on Snopes! It didn’t have exact directions, so I’ve just been adding the honey and cinnamon to hot water with green tea for a little flavor. After 3 days, my clothes were not quite as tight. I have a lot of weight to lose. 50 lbs is just my starting point, so I need something, anything, to get me motivated. I will start preparing it using the recipe provided and let you know what happens.

I have been on the honey and cinnamon diet for two and a half weeks, the first day I lost 2 lbs, ive lost a total of 13lbs, I’ve cut my calorie intake as well as stay active as usual. The way i do it is boil 1 teaspoon of cinn. in 1 cup of water and let cool the I strain the cinnamon out of the “tea” and then add 1 tablespoon of honey to it when it is a little cool. I buy regualr pure honey from the store and regular cinnamon powder… Its working for me, but I can usually lose weight quickly. good luck to all! I have found this drink to be kinda addictive. But i really like cinnamon and honey :)

  19. neetadivine says:

I have been taking 1 tbsp of Bragg Apple cider vinegar, tbsp of raw organic honey and 1 pack of stevia for two weeks now. It has helped me tremendously with my gastrointestinal problems. I just recently added cinnamon to the mix and it tastes 10 times better. It takes the bight out of the vinegar smell.

I have lost a total of 9 lbs and really see the difference in my clothes.

  20. kim says:

I was recently informed of the benefits of raw honey and powdered cinnamon i havent stuck with the tea everyday but have tried to consume it at least 3 times a week since the last week and 1/2, i lost about 3 pounds the first week and 5 pounds in all, i am going to make it a daily routine to get the full effects of this tea, I am cutting down on my calorie intake, and trying to become more active. I have research the amazing health benefits of this tea. I would encourage any one to use this because it’s simple and natural.

  21. Cathy says:

I just started the honey/cinnamon tea. Adding to green tea is an excellent suggestion as green tea burns fat and speeds metabolism, as well as regulates blood sugars. So far today (first day) I noticed something really amazing. I had my tea, waited 30 minutes, then had my normal breakfast. EIGHT hours later, I just started to feel slightly hungry! I have low blood sugar and can normally only go 2 hours without food, but I felt great all day and didn’t even think about food, and my energy was high! I’m looking forward to seeing what this tea does over the next week or so. By the way, this tea is also good for colds, heart problems, cholesterol, etc. Also read that a mixture of honey and cinnamon alone can be applied to skin to clear up blemishes! Wow all these benefits..and cheap too!

THREE things that are very important for everyone to know when making this tea:

    1. Pour Boiling water over CINNAMON ONLY. AFTER WATER HAS COOLED to warm, THEN ADD HONEY (RAW unprocessed honey, usually found at health store). DO NOT POUR BOILING WATER OVER HONEY! All the health benefits of honey are lost if you pour boiling water over it.

    2. ALWAYS use 2 parts honey and 1 part cinnamon in your tea. For example:
If you use 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, use 1 teaspoon of honey.

    3. SOME types of cinnamon are not pure..OR SAFE. There is an ingredient in some types of cinnamon called “coumarin”, which can damage the liver after prolonged use. This does not mean all cinnamon is dangerous. Below is a article on type of cinnamons that are safe and unsafe. I heard that Saigon cinnamon (found at dollar stores and discount stores) is NOT safe. There is also a warning saying that pregnant or nursing women should not consume daily cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon is the safe cinnamon, made only from the inner bark. Do read your labels!

    CINNAMON INFO:

    Warnings:
    # Cinnamon is obtained from the bark of the cinnamon tree native to Sri Lanka. Ceylon cinnamon is sometimes referred to as “true cinnamon.” It is fine, crumbles easily, is less aromatic, and is made only from the inner bark of the tree.

Cassia is regularly sold as cinnamon and is made from the entire bark of the tree. It is stronger and somewhat bitter compared to Ceylon. It contains a chemical called coumarin that can be toxic if taken in large quantities. Small amounts of cassia will not cause any problems. If large doses (about 1/2 teaspoon) are taken regularly, it may be unsafe. Avoid more than a sprinkle of cassia cinnamon if you are pregnant. Ceylon, “true cinnamon,” contains hardly any coumarin and is considered safe.
