<h2>Protein Shake addict or just being on a Protein Shake diet?</h2>
<p><img src="http://www.weight-loss-advisor.com/images/blog/protein-shake.jpg" alt="protein shake diet image" align="left" /> If some of your friends are not aware that you are following a special diet plan like the <a href="http://www.weight-loss-advisor.com/blog/2006/11/06/protein-shake-diet/" title="protein diet">Protein Shake Diet</a> and yet they see you taking shakes all day long, then they might really think you are a protein supplements addict. Well, you probably would need to explain that you are not the newest bodybuilder on the block, and you are just on a meal replacement diet that replaces some or all of your daily meals with protein shakes.<br />

<p>If you are a vegetarian, or for any reason you do not consume enough proteins from natural sources like dairy and meat then you might need some protein supplement for the day. Whether it will be a protein shake, drink, bar, cookie or else, it is a matter of personal choice. </p>
<h2>Why Choose Real Food to Protein supplements?</h2>
<p>Yes, you can replace one or two meals a day with protein supplements, but remember there is nothing healthier than the “real food” – balanced meals rich in proteins, carbs and fats. Do not resort to protein shakes only because you are lazy and don’t feel like making yourself some delicious meal with real food. </p>

<h2>My personal opinion</h2>
<p>What I particularly like about meal replacement (protein supplemented) diet plans is the fact they do not cause mental or physical stress for the body by making you eat (chew) healthy foods you hate…even if you don’t like protein supplements’ taste (which I seriously doubt) all you have to do is to drink it and you won’t have a long bad taste in the mouth <img src='http://www.weight-loss-advisor.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<h2>Bottom line &#8230; </h2>
<p>Well, protein supplements for weight loss work very successfully. They really can help you lose weight and maintain it afterwards, but they can’t do it all alone…you need at least one healthy real food meal a day and a well balanced physical activity at least 3 times a week. Not that you won’t lose weight without exercises, but with them it’s more natural for the body and much more quickly for you.</p>

<p>From all recipes I’ve read, and 3 different I’ve cooked myself, I find this cabbage soup diet recipe to be the best one:</p>
<p><strong>Cabbage Soup diet best recipe ingredients:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>1</strong> medium head cabbage</li>
<li><strong>6</strong> medium onions</li>
<li><strong>4</strong> sticks of green onions</li>
<li><strong>3</strong> carrots</li>
<li><strong>2</strong> red peppers</li>
<li><strong>1</strong> can diced tomatoes</li>
<li><strong>½</strong> bunch of celery</li>
<li><strong>½</strong> bunch of parsley</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Season salt and black pepper to taste</em></p>

<p>If you like you can use vegetable or beef or chicken bouillon cubes to spice it up a little more (but honestly I prefer it without the meat bouillon cubes)</p>
<p><strong>How to cook:</strong></p>
<p>Cut all vegetables into small pieces. In a large pot poor enough cold water to cover them and bring to boil. Fast boil for 10 minutes and then reduce to simmer for about 15 minutes or until all vegetable are tender. Turn off heat, season the cabbage soup with the spices to your taste and remove it from the plate.</p>
<p><strong>Tip: </strong></p>
<p>Cool the soup and keep it in the fridge.<br />
You can also freeze it if you make bigger quantity. This way you don’t need to cook every week – just defreeze soup for not more than 2-3 days, because once unfrozen it can’t last as long in the fridge as a freshly cooked cabbage soup.</p>

<p>Anyway, don&#8217;t worry you don&#8217;t need to eat only tuna for three days. You eat mostly fruits, veggies, lean meat and simply add tuna to one the three daily meals. Drink water, tea and coffee without sugar.</p>

<p>First there is a difference between k.C and calories.  On some product labels, only kC are shown. You should be able to obtain the C cont  in order to make a proper calculation.  </p>

<h3>The question answered with more details</h3>
<p>Humans are different. If I need 3500 c a day, you may need 2500 only. Generally, people with more active life and physical activity need more calories. If you start exercising but keep the same daily food amount, you may start losing weight without dieting or counting calories. Stop eating candy, chocolate or anything alike and bingo – you will boost the process. Stick to this plan for let&#8217;s say 3 months and you will lose significant amount of fat. Yes, it is that easy.</p>
<h3>Do you still need to count calories?</h3>
<p>If you feel difficult to follow the simple plan I give you (I assume you do not want to exercise), start counting calories. </p>
<p>1) Keep a record of all daily food you have, and how many calories you consume for let&#8217;s say a week. Add all calories and divide it to the number of days you have monitored. This is your average daily calories intake.<br />
2) To lose weight the healthy way, simply lower this number with 30%.</p>
<p>You will start losing weight for sure. We recommend instead of lowering your calorie intake with 30%,  lower it with 15% and exercise to burn the extra calories. Exercising should be done in the morning on empty stomach to burn the excessive fat.</p>
<p>Combining a diet with exercising is the best option as you cannot keep such low calorie intake for longer. Do the opposite and sooner or later you will start eating as usual and gain back the weight.</p>
