Healthy Weight Loss Program – herbal tea, healthy meals and exercises

herbal weight loss teaDo you remember the herbal tea I was telling you about in my previous post? It was an all new experience for me – a weight loss tea with 17 all natural herbs inside. I was very eager to try it. Well, I did try it. It tasted not as great as I thought it would. Anyway I’ve been drinking it for 3 weeks now and I’m already seeing some results.

Although I am not sure if it’s the tea or the healthier foods we are eating but I already lost 2 kilograms with minimum exercising.

How Many Calories Did You Burn on the Treadmill Today?

I did 20 minutes on the treadmill today and lost approximately 50 calories. I feel like walking 20 more minutes but it’ll be too much for a starter like me. I haven’t been exercising for quite long time and it’s not good to over exercise myself from the very first day.

Today I will also try a new weight loss herbal tea I just bought yesterday. It contains very rich herbal bouquet – 17 natural herbs. I hope it works and if it does I promise I’ll share all about my first herbal weight loss trial with you here at my blog.

Lose Weight by Counting Calories

So you want to lose weight and want to know how many calories you should eat in order to achieve that:

First of all let’s remind us the number of calories contained in fats, proteins and carbohydrates:

1 gram of fat = 9 kilocalories ~ 37 kilojoules

1 gram of protein = 4 kilocalories ~ 16 kilojoules

1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 kilocalories ~ 16 kilojoules

And some more calorie values:

1 gram of alcohol = 7 kilocalories

1 gram of dietary fiber = 3 kilocalories

Having all these values in mind you can easily calculate the number of calories in food you eat every day. And how much calories you need a day is another question:

How to estimate your daily caloric needs

You can estimate your daily caloric intake with the Harris-Benedict formula. It helps you calculate your basal metabolic rate (BMR), i.e. the optimum amount of energy your body needs to function.
