Do you remember the herbal tea I was telling you about in my previous post? It was an all new experience for me – a weight loss tea with 17 all natural herbs inside. I was very eager to try it. Well, I did try it. It tasted not as great as I thought it would. Anyway I’ve been drinking it for 3 weeks now and I’m already seeing some results.

Although I am not sure if it’s the tea or the healthier foods we are eating but I already lost 2 kilograms with minimum exercising.

The Weight Loss Herbal Tea

The tea itself has very strong and rich aroma. I can clearly sense and feel my favorite cinnamon flavor inside. I am drinking it with no added sugar, honey or any other sweeteners. And probably that’s why I find it a little bit bitter. But as long as it is for detox and weight loss, I am OK with the bitter-sour flavor.

Healthier Foods and Meals with Steam Cooker

I mentioned now we eat healthier foods…Well, we bought a new home appliance for the kitchen – a steam cooker. At first I was skeptical about the taste of the meals it cooks – no cooking oil is used – just pure steam. But from the very first bite of freshly steamed vegetables I loved it.

I love the taste of everything I cook with my steam cooker. The rice and potatoes are surprisingly tasty (I would never believe if someone had told me that steamed rice and potatoes can taste just as great as, or even better, than the old-fashioned baked potatoes and stewed rice). As or the steamed vegetables – no comments there!!! They are fantastic especially the broccoli and carrots.

I use fresh and frozen vegetables to make my own mixes of veggies with broccoli, carrots, beans, corn, cabbage, leeks, onions, peppers (green and red) and so on…The list is too long to count all vegetable. All I need to say is I’m very very happy we brought that thing at home. Now it’s my best kitchen-helper

For me steam cooking is a fantastic new way to cook healthier food for my family. With no added cooking oils and all vitamins preserved, with a lot less heat processing the vegetables, fish and all kinds of meats (chicken, turkey, even pork) remain healthier, crispy, juicy and twice more delicious.

Minimum Exercising

That’s something I am not very proud of, but that’s because I don’t have much time to exercise. Instead of 3 times a week, I did only once a week — 20 minutes on the treadmill. I am trying my best to exercise at least twice a week and last week I really did it.

My Healthy Weight Loss Program

Again, I am not sure if it is because of the herbal tea, the healthy home made meals, or the treadmill exercises, but I already lost 2 kilograms just like that. I drug myself into this healthy weight loss program and honestly I like it, I even enjoy it already, because it doesn’t cost me anything more than a little effort on the treadmill.

I am so inspired to continue with my weight loss plan. I am even planning to cook our traditional Christmas meals and New Years specialties in my steam cooker. If all turns out to be as great as I expect, I promise I will share the recipes with you next year here at my blog.

I did 20 minutes on the treadmill today and lost approximately 50 calories. I feel like walking 20 more minutes but it’ll be too much for a starter like me. I haven’t been exercising for quite long time and it’s not good to over exercise myself from the very first day.

Today I will also try a new weight loss herbal tea I just bought yesterday. It contains very rich herbal bouquet – 17 natural herbs. I hope it works and if it does I promise I’ll share all about my first herbal weight loss trial with you here at my blog.

Losing weight without gym workouts and dieting is not as impossible as you might think… In fact I recently come across a story of a woman who has lost half of her body weight (nearly 150 pounds) just by running with her dog while on doggy walks, which is kind of a jogging only with a dog on a leash.

This is a very sweet and truly amazing weight loss story that can inspire anyone who wants to lose weight. Everything started after her family adopted their energetic and kid friendly dog from a local dog shelter…

Nolie Watters says she discovered that her dog Casey loves to run instead to walk while on doggy walk so she did what she had to: start running with Casey side by side. For a year and a half now Nolie managed to lose 150 lbs of body weight without any special diet or indoors gym workouts. She just kept running with her dog around the block – that’s her secret.

Nolie says she feels great and that’s obvious from the way she looks now – now she just half the size of the woman she used to be a year and a half ago. She doesn’t feel the ankle and knee pains any more, she feels healthy, much more energetic and most importantly she hasn’t been sick for one single day since she lost all that excess body weight.

You can watch the video yourself right here

What else can I say but good luck to Nolie and Casey and let’s hope Nolie manages to keep all that weight off for good.

It’s name is WonderLife Healthy Weight formula and it is a quite unique and very effective green tea enhanced formula. The supplement contains 90 tablets per bottle and is completely Ephedra free. So no worries here.

You might wonder why you need this new weight loss product

Well, that’s easy – because it works. Wonderlife diet pills are meant to help everyone who is determined to lose weight.

Wonderlife’s Healthy Weight loss supplement has uniquely designed formula to support a healthy diet and exercise program. The supplement works better when combined with a healthy eating plan and an adequate exercise program.

You should take this dietary supplement in combination with a low fat diet and a proper exercise program, otherwise you won’t be very satisfied with the results. Of course it is easy to take and has no side effects, but it’s not as effortless to lose weight as you might think.

You will be very nicely surprised by the quick and satisfactory results if you follow a healthy diet for the time taking the diet pills. Eventually you will see how much better you will feel without overeating with unhealthy and fatty foods. In other words – you will learn some valuable healthy eating habits that will help you go on with your successful weight loss journey.

So you want to lose weight and want to know how many calories you should eat in order to achieve that:

First of all let’s remind us the number of calories contained in fats, proteins and carbohydrates:

1 gram of fat = 9 kilocalories ~ 37 kilojoules

1 gram of protein = 4 kilocalories ~ 16 kilojoules

1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 kilocalories ~ 16 kilojoules

And some more calorie values:

1 gram of alcohol = 7 kilocalories

1 gram of dietary fiber = 3 kilocalories

Having all these values in mind you can easily calculate the number of calories in food you eat every day. And how much calories you need a day is another question:

How to estimate your daily caloric needs

You can estimate your daily caloric intake with the Harris-Benedict formula. It helps you calculate your basal metabolic rate (BMR), i.e. the optimum amount of energy your body needs to function.

Let’s calculate your BMR

To do that you need to use your current weight, height and age in step ONE. It’s easy:

Harris-Benedict formula for Women:

655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) – (4.7 x age in years)

Harris-Benedict formula for Men:

66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) – (6.8 x age in years)

Take your daily activities into account in step TWO:

Add 20% of your BMR to your current BMR if you are sedentary: (0.2*BMR) + BMR

Means you spend all day sitting in a chair: for example working with a computer in a bank, home, office, etc.

Add 30% of your BMR to your current BMR if you are lightly active: (0.3*BMR) + BMR

For example if you exercise 2-3 times a week.

Add 40% of your BMR to your current BMR if you are moderately active: (0.4*BMR) + BMR

For example if you exercise 4-5 times a week.

Add 50% of your BMR to your current BMR if you are very active: (0.5*BMR) + BMR

If you exercise every day of the week or for prolonged periods of time. For example if you are a fitness trainer.

Add 60% of your BMR to your current BMR if you are extra active: (0.6*BMR) + BMR

If you are a professional athlete or if you work hard labor job.

How knowing your BMR will help you lose weight?

Knowing your BMR means you are aware of how much calories you need a day to keep your current weight. However, if you want to lose weight you need to cut your daily caloric intake (eat fewer calories) or burn the extra calories (through some activities). As a result you should keep your daily calorie intake lower than your BMR. How much lower? That’s the question: But before that you need to know:

Some more nutrition facts from Wikipedia:

Because human adipose (fat) tissue contains about 87% lipids, one kilogram of it stores the caloric energy of roughly 870 grams of pure fat, or 7800 kcal. In principle one has to create a 7800 kcal deficit or surplus between energy intake and use to lose or gain 1 kg of body fat, respectively, or 3500 kcal per pound. However, if one eats 7800 kcal more than the body needs, one won’t necessarily gain 1 kg of fat, since muscle and other tissues may be built. In the same way, if one eats 7800 kcal less than their maintenance level, they may not lose 1 kg of fat, since muscle and sugars may be metabolized to generate energy.

In short and still roughly speaking – in order to lose 1 pound a week you need to eat 500 calories less a day or burn those calories through exercising or other activities. For optimal results you should combine the two methods – eat 250 calories less and burn the rest 250 exercising.

Gradual weight loss is the healthiest way to achieve your desired weight

More than 2 pounds a week is not very healthy and the lost weight is not permanent. 1 to 2 pounds a week is natural weight loss – good for you and your body. You will be loosing weight with a smile on your face and won’t even notice you are dieting, because you will be dieting naturally.
