There are many cabbage soup diet recipes, I’d say way too many recipes. If you have decided to follow this easy diet plan then you will be quite confused which one to choose. Although they might slightly differ in ingredients and preparation methods, the result always stands the same – delicious cabbage soup.
From all recipes I’ve read, and 3 different I’ve cooked, I find these two cabbage soup diet recipes to be the best ones.
Recipe 1 uses green peppers and mushrooms, while Recipe 2 uses red peppers and no mushrooms, but the final result is equal in taste – cabbage soup for weight loss.
Saute the onions in a pot with cooking spray; add the green peppers, cabbage, carrots and mushrooms.
Add the bouillon cubes and about 12 cups of water (if you don’t use bouillon cubes, season with parsley, salt and pepper to taste), cover the pot and simmer for at least two hours.
If you like you can use vegetable or beef or chicken bouillon cubes to spice it up a little more (but honestly I prefer it without the meat bouillon cubes)
Cut all vegetables into small pieces. In a large pot poor enough cold water to cover them and bring to boil. Fast boil for 10 minutes and then reduce to simmer for about 15 minutes or until all vegetable are tender. Turn off heat, season the cabbage soup with the spices to your taste and remove it from the plate.
