The conditions caused from an overbalanced eating of high carbohydrate foods are excess weight, fatigue and drowsiness, depression, brain fogginess, bloating, low blood sugar, high blood pressure, high triglycerides etc.

If you have decided to start eating healthily, then you definitely need a list of low carbohydrate foods at hand while do shopping for your new healthy eating diet.

  • Meat – bacon, beef, ham, mutton, pork, veal, duck, chicken, turkey
  • Kidney and Liver – fried or stewed
  • Sea foods – mackerel, trout, hake, cod, herring, salmon, shrimps, mussels, lobster
  • Vegetables – asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, leeks, beans, peas, potatoes, radishes, spinach, watercress, turnips, beets, celery etc
  • Fruits – apples, apricots, pumpkin, blackberries, raspberries, cherries etc.

You can make vegetable and fruit salads with all these low carbohydrate veggies and fruits. You can make your veggies salads more delicious with some more low carbohydrate foods like:

  • vinegar
  • oil salad dressing
  • cheese
  • parsley
  • olives
  • sunflower seeds
  • whole-wheat wafers
  • eggs
  • lemon

Of course salads are not the only meals prepared from low carbohydrate foods. I am sure everybody loves soups, because they contain meat and lots of vegetables:

  • chicken and vegetable soups
  • vegetable and meat broths
  • vegetarian, tomato and bean soups
