  1. I’ve never tried a cinnamon and honey drink, but I have started adding cinnamon to a lot of the stuff I eat. I’m not really on a diet but I’m adding extra cinnamon for the health benefits.

  2. This actually works !!! Its unbelievable. I am glad it worked for me.Thanks so much !!

  3. I’ve been trying this for 4 days so far – honey and cinnamon in a cup of hot water before breakfast and bed. haven’t noticed alot so far. How much of each do you use? I didn’t know a specific measurement.

  4. Has anyone had success with the Cinnamon and Honey weight loss program ? and if so, what did they do and how long did it take to see some weight loss ?

  6. I started doing the honey cinnomon diet on march fifth and to date have lost 15 lbs and that is with all the while eating WHATEVER I want. I dont cut calories and I eat candy, ice cream, chocolate anything, I dont drink soda though, never really have. Anyway, I just had a baby and had only gained 20 lbs, I had lost the weight but was still really flabby…I am still a little flabby but its going away. Even my husband has noticed the difference. This really works, and the taste isnt too bad!!!

  7. To Tara or anyone with this recipe,

  10. Hello,

This is really works, It starts with the fat that you already have and starts moving that out. Please be advised that you should not pour the boiling water over the raw honey as it will lose it’s enzymes and you will not have effective weightloss. Follow correctly and you will lose the weight. Here is the correct version of the receipe below:

Cinnamon and Honey formula for weight loss:

This should be prepared at night before going to bed.

    1. Use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts raw honey. 1/2 tsp cinnamon to 1 tsp honey is recommended but can use more or less as long as in the ratio of 1 to 2. — so 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp raw honey is ok too as an example.

    2. Boil 1 cup…that is 8 oz of water.

    3. Pour water over cinnamon and cover and let it steep for 1/2 hour..(30 minutes)

    4. Add honey now that it has cooled. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.

    5. Drink 1/2 of this directly before going to bed. The other 1/2 should be covered and refrigerated.

    6. In the morning drink the other half that you refirgerated…but do not re-heat it…drink it cold or at room temp only.

Do not add anything else to this recipe. No lemon, no lime, no vinegar. It is not necessary to drink it more time in a day…it is only effective on an empty stomach and primarily at night.

This works for most people. Inches are lost before any measurement on the scales. This program will cause significant inches lost…but you will reach a plateau and may not lose anymore. This is because the cinnamon and honey cause a cleansing effect in the digestive tract and cleans out parasites and other fungus and bacteria that slow down the digestion…causing a toxic build up. (Lowers pH) Once this is all cleaned out then you will most likely have the weight loss slow down.

Other side effects from a cleansing can occur because of toxins being released…if this occurs, cut back on how much you use or take a break.

Additionally people report increased energy, more sex drive, and feeling happier/mood enhancer.

*NOTE:The honey used needs to be REAL RAW UNPASTEURIZED HONEY. If it says PURE honey it is most likely pasteurized. It is best to only buy honey that says RAW or UNPASTEURIZED on the label. The difference is that the enzymes are all heated out of the pasteurized honey.

  11. a friend just emailed me this diet and i am so excited to try it, i know its all natural, but are there any side effect to watch for?

  12. Check out cassia cinnamon and coumarin on the internet for possible side effects. You might try Ceylon cinnamon instead.

  13. I AM A LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT USING UNPASTURISED HONEY FOR THE FEAR OF BOTULISM OR SALMONELLA.
ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS. I HAD TRIED THIS DRINK FOR 2 WEEKS WITH NO RESULTS, SO I QUIT DOING IT. I AM THINKING ABOUT DOING IT AGAIN. WISH ME LUCK THIS TIME AROUND.

  14. Unpasturised honey is food straight from nature ans pasturisation destroyes a lot of the good stuff in it.
I mean how many cases of botulism or salmonella from honey have you actually heard. I always buy raw honey and nothing less. I am then sure to get maximum benefits from it and that is the enzymes it contains which is amylase and also propolis for antibacterial properties.
Something interesting that you might want to know is that when you spread raw honey on bread and leave on for a few minutes it starts digesting it for you.
Don’t be afraid of it be grateful and thank the next Bee you see.

  15. I heard about this one week ago and tried it that night and the next morning. I have lost 3# so far. I joined WW and this added bit of information is giving me a new jump start in my weight loss experience. On days that I “cheat” like today, Mother’s Day, the honey and cinnamon tea settles an upset stomach too. It’s awesome.

  16. Which honey should you use light or dark?
how long do you wait after drinking it in the morning before you eat?

  17. Now from where do i get RAW honey??is it found in the market? Can u suggest some brands?
N is the drink to be taken most likely cool?
I have seen in some sites they have written that half teaspoon cinnamon n 1 teaspoon honey made as a paste with 1 cup warm water added 2 it taken half hour before breakfast and before going to sleep reduces weight i m kinda confused which one is the right method to prepare this drink to lose weight.plz reply or mail me at starzshine90@yahoo.co.in

  18. I know it works… Cinnamon & honey is a very famous traditional Egyptian drink. Because of its benefits you can get it in every coffee shop in Egypt.

I’ve tried this diet multiple times & it has always worked for me. It’s really great before special occasion as you can see results fast [up to 3 kgs on the first week].

My Grandma & my mother drink cinnamon at least once a day since they were in their 30’s & they’ve always maintained a perfect weight this way.

The exact recipe is as follows:

Boil 250 ml of water, pour it in a container with a lid [a kettle], then add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the boiled water & cover for a few minutes [5 min.]. Pour in a glass then add 1 tablespoon of honey, stir & drink.

Also during the day, to overcome sweet cravings, you can try having the same cinnamon drink, but add some skimmed milk. You’ll be surprised how satisfied you’ll feel.

Other than weight loss, try the cinnamon drink as well during your menstruation, it acts as a painkiller as well as a uterine stimulant.

  19. I am just going to try this I read a month ago. I have thyroid problems and as much as workout and I have a trainer giving me right nutrition. I cannot loose a lb or inches for the past 2 months I am totally disgusted. I bought the raw honey today what kind of cinnamon regular or does it have to be that cassia? please answer

  20. Also i can’t find any Raw honey. =[
Anychance you can buy it over the internet?

  21. Hey People please do it exact way…I just read and did bt I forgotten that honey shoud be added in cold water not in boiling water. So I think results will be lesser….
from tomorrow morning I will boil water add cinnamon and than after half an hour i will pour the remaining honey…
    I think that will work…

  22. Hey I’m going to try this also. I really hope it works though cause no other diet has ever helped me. But do I add the honey before I filter or after? I know you guys said when it is cool but you didn’t say whether it was before or after. Thanks for all this advice.

  23. I have been doing this for 3 days. I think my tummy looks thinner…is it my imagination.

  24. You know this sounds very interesting but there are too many methods listed here and how does one know who is correct – if any? I want to know why you just can’t have a spoonful of honey with cinnamon mixed in? Why the cool boiled water? Or just boiled water? Why enzymes with honey? How does that effect weight loss. Is there anything but rumor here? If so – does anyone have an actual source for how to go about it? (besides ancient egyptian lore)

  25. I am confused to I don’t know which amount of each is correct. There are too many different mixtures. Does anyone know the right combination?

  26. I have a friend who started this a few weeks ago and she claims she has lost about 10 pounds so far. She does it at night for insomnia as well.

I started this a few days ago and drink it in the morning. After a few hours, I am heading to the restroom. I assume it is working to get the toxins out of my body, but it is not a pleasant. I have noticed that my jeans are not as snug at the waist. Don’t know it I can attribute it to the cinnamon and raw honey or not. Will check back after a few weeks on it.

  27. I started this on 8th July, and went from 67 kg to 63 kg in a matter of 2 weeks. Not much I know but it was enough for people to notice that I was slimmer!! At the same time I limited my carbohydrate intake to once a day and at other meal times ate plenty of veg and proteins. My jeans were less snug and I think my tummy has gone down a bit…
The thing is I boiled a cup of water, some cinnamon powder and some honey..no specific measuremnts at all – i might have lost more if I had done it the right way as mentioned above!
I now seem to have reached a plateau at 62 kg…no more loss I’m afarid, but I still intend to carry on with this because it doesn’t taste too bad..and I feel lighter and more energetic!!

  28. After reading “TONS” of information on the subject of Cinnamon and Honey for weight loss I realize just how important it is to have the correct Cinnamon. “True or Ceylon Cinnamon” must be used for the best health results. I have looked the “Raw” Honey and could only find honey that has been warmed enough so it would pour. So I guess that is as close as one can can get.
My order of True Ceylon Cinnamon will be arriving Sept 30th and I will be very eager to get started.
I understand honey should never have boiling water poured over it as heat will destroy all the good effects and enzymes in it.

    Signed,
A person eagerly anticipating pounds and inches to disappear.

  30. Here is a link [deleted by admin] It has a list of mixtures for different remedies, near the middle is the proper way to mix the honey and cinnamon for weight loss. It also specifies Ceylon cinnamon should be used, which I purchased online fairly cheap as it is pure. I also bought raw honey at [brand deleted], it is a health food store. Good Luck!!

  31. Yes, I HAVED tried it. i have lost 1/2 Kg per week while eating KFC & PIZZA. i have also got my periods which i hadnt got it for 5 months. i make this tea – honey,Cinnamon in cup and boil water with a piece of ginger.i was just drinking this in the morning 1/2 hr before my beakfast. now i will start to drink Morning and Night.

  32. Well I started trying this since last monday. I could find a significant decrease in my tummy. Te scales havent started to show it yet.i will post next week with my findings. I am using RAW honey.

  33. Hi, I have been taking cinnamon and honey in the boiled water for quiet some time , it has amazing effect on the weight, I would also like to share that honey and cinnamon mixture in boiled water even helps you lower your cholesterol and often works as aphrodisiac if taken on regular basis

  34. Does the mix need to be filtered. Can the benefits be achieved without filtering it?

Has anyone tried just the honey/cinnamon mix without the water? (i.e. just the paste alone?)

  35. I have a supply of cinnamon sticks (the unground bark rolled up). Any suggestions for what I can do with it?

    Thanks.

  36. I have been drinking the honey/cinnamon tea for 4 days now and have lost 5 lbs. I dissolve the cinnamon in water boiling from the microwave. I let the cinnamon water sit for at least 1/2 hour, then add 2 tsps of RAW honey. There are countless health benefits to raw, unfiltered honey, but you don’t want to heat the honey more than required for it to dissolve. The tea can sometimes be a bit pasty, but if textures don’t bother you, the results have been worth it. I haven’t made a conscious effort to diet, but I was able to sit in a room with free donuts yesterday morning and was not interested. I have a major sweet-tooth, so resisting temptation is not normal for me. The honey seems to curb my appetite for sweets made with processed sugars. I am thrilled with my results so far!

  37. Hi,

Does this have to be in the form of a “tea”? I just heard about this on Thanksgiving by a family member. He said you can mix the cinnamon/honey and use it as a spread on bread. Is this true? Also, MUST raw honey and a special cinnamon be used or will benefits (though lesser) be had with processed honey and “regular” store bought cinnamon?

    Thanks so much!

  38. What kind of Cinnamon? Powder??? Does it have to be a certain kind or can I just pick some up at the supermarket?

I’m so excited to try this!

  39. I have been drinking the cinnamon/honey tea for a few weeks now. I’ve only lost about 3 pounds though. But I’ve also made other lifestyle changes so it’s hard to tell what it’s from. I’ve also noticed a difference in the bloating (decrease) and a decrease in my sugar cravings. I did read something online that said you should be careful not to overdo it since high amounts of cinnamon can be toxic. (so be careful). When I first started, I would mix the cinnamon and honey in one cup (8oz) of water at the same time. But, now I will let the mixture sit as well for a 1/2 hour before putting the honey in. I did find out that if you let the complete mixture sit for a while before drinking, it does get a bit slimy and thick (harder to swallow). Happy Drinking!

  40. Started the drink yesterday… is it suppose to be this grainy? lol
    Not too bad though!
Thanks Ree for the warning on too much cinnamon, I didn’t know that!

  41. Another question.. should this tea be “filtered” … or are you suppose to drink all the cinnamon in the water?
Should you start out drinking a full cup in the the morning and night?

  42. Please I Live in London, UK and I wish to know how to:

    1. Identify the real Cinnamon Herb
    2. Identify where to buy

I always have a good source of Honey at home.

    Thank you.

  43. Hi

I am breastfeeding my 2 months old baby. Can I drink the honey and cinnamon tea? Will it affect my baby since I am breastfeeding her? Pls reply so that I will start right away.

  44. Hello Aparna,

I am not a doctor, so it is better to ask your pediatrician about that. But if I were you, I wouldn’t drink the honey and cinnamon tea while breastfeeding.

  45. I have tried taking this mixture but there was no change in weight… I am not lost any weight… Can any one guide on how to prepare the mixture. I have tried taking boiling water then adding cinnamon powder to it. Wait for the water to come to normal temp. and then add honey to it.. Not sure where do we get “RAW” honey… I have tried honey available locally… Can some one who was successful advice….

  46. i am wondering about the half that stays overnight and is drank in the morning, can i leave it out at room temp? I am wondering because it would be more conducive to me drinking the AM “dose” if i don’t have to run down to the fridge before i shower. πŸ™‚ I have a few glass bottles with lids that i could store it in.

and, did we decide the proper portions? 1 tsp cinn=2 tsp honey?

  47. started last night, it has a nice flavor but i didn’t filter it and was left with a gross sludge at the bottom. I am wondering if i should’ve consumed that sludge. I just poured it down the drain. I am wondering if the people who have seen results did the filtering, or consumed the sludge?

  48. Hey I’ve just started trying ds procedure n hope that it will work but a bit confused about raw honey is it da same one as available in da market as Natural honey. And most importantly cinnamon does it really has side effects?

  49. Raw Honey can be bought at Whole Food Store, a natural health food store should also have it.I am mixing now will let you all know how it goes soon.

  50. The lord is good. It so hard to try to stick to eating right. I found this paper at mt church. I started doing it on 3/25/09. And today is 3/30/09.I have a pair of jeans that were so tight on me, I tryed them on Saturday 3/28 and my pants fit. It is so amazing. these are natural things God has given us.We dont need harsh pills that are loaded with things I cant read. I’m glad I found it and my 12 year old son lost inches to. He started the same time as me. Try it! It wont fail you.

  51. Ive been taking the tea for a week daily already and i dont see much difference. I add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 2 teaspoons of pure honey and leave it for 1/2 hr. Then, I boil water and add the paste into it and let it be for 1/2 hr. Next, i filter it and pour it in 2 cups, one for the night and the other next morning.

    Am i doing it right?

  52. Yes..this formula works..!! its amazing..I am beginning to fit into my other wise tight dresses..it feels great..1!

  53. This works! I’ve lost a size in 3-4 weeks and my belly fat seems to melt away! I cannot believe this is not in the mainstream more! You MUST use raw honey, and MUST NOT add the honey at the same time as the cinnamon. Here is what I’ve been doing: boil water, add to 1 tsp organic cinnamon, add 1 green tea bag, remove tea bag after 4 minutes, continue steeping the cinammon for 35 more minutes, strain the liquid with a wire mesh soup strainer, THEN add the raw/unfiltered honey. It should look milky/opaque. If it is typical looking honey, it is probably not raw. Drink! I make my morning tea the same way, and have it fresh before my coffee and breakfast. Everyone should try this!

  54. O M G im so excited to loose weight WOOP!!

can enione tell me if its alright to eat a lemon before drinking this? becouse i have a habit of eating lemon before bed… sounds weird but its a habit …. i hope it dusnt effect the properties of the drink. lemmi no pls
    thanxxx

  55. This works for me even with the honey being included in the boiling hot water. One addition I have not seen here: It is recommended that after drinking in the AM you wait 30 minutes before eating. I find that generally within that 30 minutes I’m off to the bathroom for some “cleansing” that wouldn’t normally happen that quickly.

I have lost 24 pounds since May 20. Not all from this, but also exercise and cutting back on sodium and eating whole grains, unenriched foods. Once a change has become habit (no more fast food), I add a new change. This week I stop eating at 7 pm and drink this mix before bed. I set a personal goal to lose 25 pounds every 4 months until I reach my goal.

I have had this drink about 2-3 times a week for the past few weeks. Each week I followed this recipe I lost 3-4 pounds.

  56. WOW this all sounds to good to be true!!!!! i am going to but the honey and cinnamon today at lunch. i will start with my first mixture tonight. i will only add this to my other routine and not change anything else to see if it works for me. i’ll try to do an update in 7 days

  57. I am wondering if someone can tell me if you should add the honey to the cinn with the boiling water or wait and add the honey after the water and cinn has cooled?

  58. I’m going to try this again. The last time I used the cinnamon from the grocery store and there was a glob of sludge in the bottom of the cup. This time I bought some Chinese Cinnamon and it doesn’t get the sludge. Good luck everyone.

  59. For everyone whos trying to find raw honey for the recipe, try the Vitamin Shoppe, they should have it, or if you dont have that store in your area, you should try GNC they usually have raw honey. If not there, try typing in health food stores in your web browser for your area. I’ve gotten raw honey from local bee keepers at the Farmers Market down here in Fl.

  60. I don’t know if I did this correctly. I followed the recipe exactly, a 2:1 ratio. I had 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of Kirkland Signature Saigon Cinnamon to 1 tablespoon of buckwheat honey. I drank half in the evening, half in the morning. I added the honey once the mixture had cooled. However, my weight stayed the same. Any ideas as to what I did wrong?

  61. I found out about this on Snopes! It didn’t have exact directions, so I’ve just been adding the honey and cinnamon to hot water with green tea for a little flavor. After 3 days, my clothes were not quite as tight. I have a lot of weight to lose. 50 lbs is just my starting point, so I need something, anything, to get me motivated. I will start preparing it using the recipe provided and let you know what happens.

  62. I have been on the honey and cinnamon diet for two and a half weeks, the first day I lost 2 lbs, ive lost a total of 13lbs, I’ve cut my calorie intake as well as stay active as usual. The way i do it is boil 1 teaspoon of cinn. in 1 cup of water and let cool the I strain the cinnamon out of the “tea” and then add 1 tablespoon of honey to it when it is a little cool. I buy regualr pure honey from the store and regular cinnamon powder… Its working for me, but I can usually lose weight quickly. good luck to all! I have found this drink to be kinda addictive. But i really like cinnamon and honey πŸ™‚

  63. I have been taking 1 tbsp of Bragg Apple cider vinegar, tbsp of raw organic honey and 1 pack of stevia for two weeks now. It has helped me tremendously with my gastrointestinal problems. I just recently added cinnamon to the mix and it tastes 10 times better. It takes the bight out of the vinegar smell.

I have lost a total of 9 lbs and really see the difference in my clothes.

  64. I was recently informed of the benefits of raw honey and powdered cinnamon i havent stuck with the tea everyday but have tried to consume it at least 3 times a week since the last week and 1/2, i lost about 3 pounds the first week and 5 pounds in all, i am going to make it a daily routine to get the full effects of this tea, I am cutting down on my calorie intake, and trying to become more active. I have research the amazing health benefits of this tea. I would encourage any one to use this because it’s simple and natural.

  65. I just started the honey/cinnamon tea. Adding to green tea is an excellent suggestion as green tea burns fat and speeds metabolism, as well as regulates blood sugars. So far today (first day) I noticed something really amazing. I had my tea, waited 30 minutes, then had my normal breakfast. EIGHT hours later, I just started to feel slightly hungry! I have low blood sugar and can normally only go 2 hours without food, but I felt great all day and didn’t even think about food, and my energy was high! I’m looking forward to seeing what this tea does over the next week or so. By the way, this tea is also good for colds, heart problems, cholesterol, etc. Also read that a mixture of honey and cinnamon alone can be applied to skin to clear up blemishes! Wow all these benefits..and cheap too!

THREE things that are very important for everyone to know when making this tea:

    1. Pour Boiling water over CINNAMON ONLY. AFTER WATER HAS COOLED to warm, THEN ADD HONEY (RAW unprocessed honey, usually found at health store). DO NOT POUR BOILING WATER OVER HONEY! All the health benefits of honey are lost if you pour boiling water over it.

    2. ALWAYS use 2 parts honey and 1 part cinnamon in your tea. For example:
If you use 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, use 1 teaspoon of honey.

    3. SOME types of cinnamon are not pure..OR SAFE. There is an ingredient in some types of cinnamon called “coumarin”, which can damage the liver after prolonged use. This does not mean all cinnamon is dangerous. Below is a article on type of cinnamons that are safe and unsafe. I heard that Saigon cinnamon (found at dollar stores and discount stores) is NOT safe. There is also a warning saying that pregnant or nursing women should not consume daily cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon is the safe cinnamon, made only from the inner bark. Do read your labels!

    CINNAMON INFO:

    Warnings:
    # Cinnamon is obtained from the bark of the cinnamon tree native to Sri Lanka. Ceylon cinnamon is sometimes referred to as “true cinnamon.” It is fine, crumbles easily, is less aromatic, and is made only from the inner bark of the tree.

Cassia is regularly sold as cinnamon and is made from the entire bark of the tree. It is stronger and somewhat bitter compared to Ceylon. It contains a chemical called coumarin that can be toxic if taken in large quantities. Small amounts of cassia will not cause any problems. If large doses (about 1/2 teaspoon) are taken regularly, it may be unsafe. Avoid more than a sprinkle of cassia cinnamon if you are pregnant. Ceylon, “true cinnamon,” contains hardly any coumarin and is considered safe.

  66. Hi all,

  70. Hi Pure my baby is 4months old,i am compltely breastfeeding i want to reduce my weight from 55 to 50kg,does this drink is safe to consume?

  71. I started drinking 1/2 teaspoon organic cinnamon (not ceylon cinnamon though, wonder if its ok?) with 1 teaspoon honey, 2tablespoon ACV (braggs). I will add boiling water to the cinnamon and let it cool, afterwhich I will add honey and ACV, drink half cup before bed, fridge it, next morning add some warm water (too cold from fridge) and drink before breakfast. I feel that its a bit grainy though.

I’ve went to the loo in the morning after drinking and it’s only the second day! Will monitor and update soon! Cheers!

  72. Hi All.. thanks for the valuable info.I will start giving this to my husband from tomo.
Meanyime can anyone suggest me if it is good or advisable to have it while you are BREASTFEEDING? I have a 3 months old baby and I already feel very uncomfortable with my weight gain after delivery which keeps on increasing even with proper diet. Please advise!!!!

  73. Hello Sweety,

I’m so so sorry for my late answer. I’m not a doctor and I can NOT advise you to use it.

We are talking about a 3 months baby, who will be absorbing honey and cinnamon from your breastmilk, after all.
So, you should ask your baby’s pediatrician if it’s OK for you to take it.

  74. Does this work for the whole body fat or just for your belly?
Cause i really want to have skinny legs πŸ™
